Department: Worker's Compensation

Department Description
Injured Workers undergo a comprehensive rehabilitation program with the goal of maximizing the patient's physical function in order to return him or her to the workplace.

The multidisciplinary program, individually developed to address the specific needs of the patient, utilizes the following:

  • Worker's Compensation Physician
  • Physical Therapy
  • Injective Therapy
  • Behavioral Therapy
  • Diagnostic Testing
  • Outcome Measures

The Program Design is determined by the Practice's physician and the company's representative. Case mangers have access to our providers in order to easily track the progress of their patient.

Worker's Compensation patients are placed into three categories:

  • Acute Onset – injury period less than 3 months
  • Acute Pending – 3-12 months from injury
  • Persistent – greater than 12 months from injury

Acute Onset – An aggressive 12-week program is designed for the patient utilizing our multidisciplinary modalities. The Practice physician and the Worker's Compensation coordinator work together for aggressive treatment and rehabilitation of the patient. Tracking and outcome measures are utilized and at the end of the program, the physician and the coordinator determine whether to continue or discontinue the program. Emphasis is placed on restoring function, while minimizing the use of analgesics. Since most services are performed here, delays in patient recovery and rehabilitation should be minimized.

Acute Pending – Follows the same program as the Acute Onset Program.

Persistent – The patient undergoes the traditional treatment plan that is established for all new patient. The plan utilizes all modalities of our Practice, but also addresses the negative impact of persistent and chronic pain.
