Department Description
The Pain Treatment Center of the Bluegrass is a Provider of Independent Medical Evaluations providing exceptional service, quality and attention to detail. With over 26 years of experience as a licensed neurosurgeon, Dr. Mortara provides an accurate, honest opinion and delivers the medical assessments necessary for legal cases and insurance claims. He administers dependable evaluations for case workers and attorneys.

As a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME), Dr. Mortara has met rigorous educational, training and work experience requirements and abides by the ABIME guidelines of ethical practice. He has a commitment to professional excellence and integrity and delivers impartial assessments that produce beneficial results. A comprehensive written analysis regarding diagnosis, causation, prognosis, maximal medical improvement, impairments, work capacity, appropriateness of care and care management is provided. These reports follow the nationally recognized "Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fifth Edition" guaranteeing consistency and transferability.

Goal
The Department of Independent Medical Evaluations' main goal is to provide courts with a credible, accurate and timely report after meeting with a client or reviewing medical records in order to help bring resolution to a case.

Referrals for Independent Medical Evaluations
Referrals are accepted from attorneys and insurance carriers who are seeking a comprehensive written analysis regarding diagnosis, causation and prognosis, maximal medical improvement, impairment work capacity, appropriateness of care and care management for their client/patient.

Final Reports
Final reports follow the nationally recognized 5th Edition of "Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment", which provides consistency and transferability. Generally, reports are returned to the client within 3-4 business days.
